Route 413 Lane Closures Continue For Core Borings Work In Levittown

LEVITTOWN, PA —PennDOT will begin preliminary work of Phase III of its Route 1 improvement program this week, starting Monday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that core boring operations will take place this week on Route 413 (Pine Street) as part of advanced engineering activities for upcoming improvements to Route 1 in Middletown Township and Langhorne and Langhorne Manor boroughs.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, Dec. 5, through Thursday, Dec. 8, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, alternating lane closures will be in place in both directions on U.S. 1 between Old Lincoln Highway and Parkvale Avenue; and
• Monday, Dec. 5, through Thursday, Dec. 8, periodically from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, alternating lane closures will be in place in both directions on Route 413 (Pine Street) between Flowers Avenue and Woods Drive.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. All scheduled activities are weather dependent. The project had been previously delayed.

The core borings are being done under the third phase (Section RC3) of the Route 1 Improvement Program to reconstruct the highway between Penndel/Business Route 1 and Corn Crib Lane.

Section RC3 is currently in preliminary engineering with construction bids tentatively expected to open in late 2026.

Section RC2 improvements from the Turnpike to north of the Penndel/Business Route 1 Interchange in Middletown Township are under construction through late 2026.
