Scam PECO Calls Making Rounds: Falls Twp. Police
Callers posing as PECO reps are asking for money and threatening power shut off.

Fall Township Police are notifying the public to a PECO phone scam taking place.
Police said the callers posing as PECO contact individuals and claim the account is past due and must be paid in cash, moneygram, or moneypak within 45 minutes to avoid service being shut off.
The call is generated from an 844 area code and the callers seem to be Indian males, police said.

When the number is called back, there is an automated menu that purports to be PECO, police said.
PECO confirmed they do not call and request money this way over the phone, police said.
