Students who were outside were instructed to return to the building.

The building is in a secure hold, school officials said.

During this time, students and staff are permitted to move about the building but are not allowed to leave. No one is permitted to enter the building at this time.

"We are monitoring the situation with local law enforcement and will provide an update if this situation will impact how we dismiss our students," school officials said.

The Neshaminy School District said that Middletown Township Police informed the district that there was police activity in the area of Oxford Valley Road and Route 1, bordering the townships of Falls and Middletown.

Out of an abundance of caution, the district held one bus at Neshaminy High School from departing to that area for about 10 minutes until we were given the direction to allow the bus to depart from Middletown Township Police.

"At no time were our students in danger and there was no other impact on our school district's operations as a result," the district said.
