Social Media Threat Prompts Police Presence At Pennsbury High

Falls Township Police were present at Pennsbury High School Thursday as a precaution. Find out about the threat below.

FALLSINGTON, PA —The Falls Township Police Department established a police presence Thursday at Pennsbury High School following a social media threat sent to students.

Schools Superintendent Thomas A Smith —along with High School Campus Principal Reggie Meadows —sent an email to the Pennsbury High School Community after being notified of a Snapchat post telling students “not to come to school” that was posted overnight.

No specifics were provided and school officials were working with police to investigate the matter.

"We, along with local authorities, do not believe this is a credible threat. However, as a precaution, Falls Township police will be on-site when students and staff arrive," Smith said.

Smith said that school officials commend the individual who reported the Snapchat post and assured the public that the school district takes every threat seriously and fully investigates each one.
