Social Skills Campers Set To Dazzle In Talent Show
Special needs children will try their hand at stand-up comedy, rock group singing and more.

Nearly 30 kids diagnosed with autism spectrum, ADHD and other anxiety disorders have been spent the past six weeks at summer camp having fun with a true purpose.
The summer camp, sponsored by Bristol Township School District, was designed to help those special needs children learn valuable social skills that will help them function more smoothly in society.

On Thursday, students, ages 7 to 14, will host a talent show to demonstrate what they have learned and put those skills to use.
The talent show will be the grand finale to a summer program which the school district operates in partnership with the Delaware Valley Children’s Center.

"Performing on stage is daunting for anyone, but particularly for kids with special needs," said JoAnn Allison, supervisor of special education. "We are all looking forward to seeing them demonstrate what they have learned."
The talent show will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Thursday at Neil A. Armstrong Middle School at 475 Wistar Road in Fairless Hills.
