St. Mary Medical Raising Minimum Wage To $15

The medical center's parent company, Trinity Health, has been working toward the $15-an-hour goal with wage increases since 2016.

MIDDLETOWN, PA — Some employees of St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown will be getting a raise for the new year. Trinity Health, the medical center's parent company, has announced that it is raising the minimum wage for its workers to $15 per hour, starting in January.

Trinity Health has locations in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.

"Increasing the minimum wage is the right thing to do for our colleagues and the right thing to do for our community," said James Woodward, President and CEO of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic. "This is a clear demonstration of the commitment to colleagues at every level of our organization."

Trinity Health has been working toward the $15 minimum since 2016, raising its minimum wage annually since then.

St. Mary Medical Center is a 371-bed hospital providing care to residents of Bucks County and neighboring communities. It has been a recipient of the America's 100 Best Hospitals award for three consecutive years.

About 3,200 people, including 700 physicians, are employed on the center's 53-acre campus.

Trinity Health said about 1,500 workers throughout its network will be impacted by the wage increase.
