After practicing for several months in the gymnasium of the closed Saint Bosco School off East County Line Road in Warminster, the Uptown String Band hits Broad Street Sunday to strut their stuff.
"We are ready for New Year’s Day. We had our final rehearsal last night and today (Friday) we are breaking down all of our props and loading them into the truck.," Devon Hindman, the Uptown String Band's publicity director, told Patch Friday.

"We are proud to be the only String Band/ Mummers organization in Bucks County and we want to thank all of our supporters throughout the entire year who help make our performances possible," Hindman said. "We worked very hard and we are very excited to put on our show this year."
This year's theme is “Safari So Good” with musical influences from The Lion King and Jungle Book.
The Uptown String Band performs at functions in Bucks County and surrounding areas throughout the year. They've appeared on the boardwalk in Ocean City, N.J., and even at weddings.
"We strive to bring the cheer and joy of the distinct mummers sound and the profound pageantry of sequined and plumed costumes," the band's website states.
