Summit Lane fifth graders showcased their unique skills and talents during Summit Lane Elementary School's fifth grade talent show on Dec. 17. More than 20 fifth graders performed for the student body in the morning and for families in the evening. Fifth grader Kailey McKinney served as the student host while teacher Jennifer O'Brien, social worker Meghan Ruane and teacher Samantha Stansfield coordinated the production.
The fifth grade talent show is a Summit Lane tradition for students to not only showcase their talents but to reflect on some the hopes and dreams that they have. Audience members watched as the impressive group of students shared their dancing and singing abilities, their artistic skills, comedy routines, magic tricks and more. McKinney announced each student performer's name and shared some background about them, in addition to sharing their favorite memory of Summit Lane Elementary School. At the conclusion of the show, the fifth graders performed "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
