"Didn't Bristol Township do away with the head tax? I just got a bill for it," a resident posted, which started a wave of responses from other residents, who said they started getting the bill over the weekend.
But it was just a mix-up, township officials said.

Bristol Township Manager Randee Elton responded on Facebook and the township's website that tax collection firm Berkheimer Associates mistakenly sent the collection notice to residents.
"Please disregard any 2024 Per Capita Tax invoice you may have or do receive," Elton said. "My apologies for any confusion."
Elton said that she spoke to Berkheimer and that balances for 2024 will be processed to $0.00 and any payments received will be returned to the taxpayer.
Berkheimer will also inform its Customer Care Department of the change so that they can let anyone who calls know that their payments will be returned to them if sent in already.
She said this is for the 2024 Per Capita Tax only and that any ongoing Per Capita Tax concerns before 2024 are still binding.
Bristol Township Council repealed the ordinance and tax in December 2023.
For 12 straight years, the Bristol Township Council has not increased taxes. That streak continued when the council adopted its 2023 municipal budget at its Dec. 15 meeting.
