LANGHORNE, PA —Students in the Neshaminy School District will be celebrating Thanksgiving with their families Thursday. But before the feast, they wanted to make sure that members of the community are also fed well on the holiday.

The Student Council at Maple Point Middle School coordinated their annual Holiday Food Drive during the week before Thanksgiving with items donated by Maple Point families, staff members, and generous community donors.

The items were sorted into complete Thanksgiving meals, placed into boxes decorated by the students, and delivered to 40 families.

The District School nurses and social workers work with their colleagues to identify families in need who could use a little help during the holidays.

These efforts continue throughout the year with additional food and clothing drives, the operation of in-school food pantries, as well as the direction of resources provided by community partners, school officials said.
