HOLLAND, PA — Summer is here! With many summer camp programs kicking off this week in eastern PA, River Crossing YMCA wants to help families keep kids safe as the sun and temps get ready to settle in for the hot days sure to come. Danielle Cioffi, who oversees all camp programs for the Y recently authored a helpful blog article on the Y’s Blog Page with important information to help keep kids cool and safe during hot summer days.

Cioffi explains in the article how these tips, among others, are applied every day to River Crossing YMCA summer camp programs, whether they are outdoor camps or partially indoors.
“River Crossing YMCA's outdoor camp model is a good blueprint because it does not rely on parents or kids remembering to do the right thing in the moment,” Cioffi wrote. “Instead, hydration breaks, shade rotations and sunscreen policies are built into the structure of the day. The safety happens automatically because it is part of the routine.” Read the whole article here.
