Wawa Plans In Penndel Canceled: Report
Meanwhile, a different developer's plans for a Wawa in nearby Middletown are going forward.

PENNDEL BOROUGH, PA — Plans for a new Wawa in Penndel have been canceled, the Intelligencer reports.
According to the paper, borough officials have been notified by Wawa that the company has abandoned longstanding plans for a 5,585-square-foot store along the Business Rt. 1 corridor. Council members had approved plans for the store in 2016 based on efforts dating back to 2012, the Intelligencer reports.
In a Dec. 2 letter, Wawa thanked Penndel officials for their efforts, but said getting three needed permits from PennDOT proved too difficult. To get the permits, the paper says, Wawa would have needed permission to do stormwater and other work on seven different parcels in the area.
