2 Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Weekend Accident On 422

ROYERSFORD, PA — Two people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash on 422 Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. in the Royersford area's eastbound lanes., near mile marker 182.8, according to officials.

A silver van and a gold sedan both suffered significant damage in the crash, and came to rest in the median.

First responders had to use extrication tools to rescue the driver of the sedan.

Trappe EMS brought the victims to a nearby hospital for care.

Traffic in the area was backed up for a time as the scene was cleared.

The crash is under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.

The Royersford Fire Department and Black Rock Fire Company responded to the scene.
