2 Rescued After Overnight Crash On 422 Near Limerick

Fire crews were able to cut the roof off the vehicle to remove the victims.

LIMERICK, PA — Two victims were rescued after becoming trapped following a crash on Route 422 early Tuesday.

The incident occurred at 12:02 a.m. in the westbound lanes between the Lewis Road ramp and the Airport Road overpass.

A white sedan spun off to the side of the road and landed on its side in the grass, with the victims unable to get out, the Limerick Fire Department said.

Crews were able to cut the roof back and get the occupants out.

A black sedan involved in the crash was also damaged. It remains unclear exactly what caused the crash.

The victims suffered non life-threatening injuries during the incident.

The Limerick Fire Department's units Rescue 51, Squad 51, Engine 51, and Fire Police responded to the scene.
