Admin, Board React to Recent PSSA Rankings

, the Pittsburgh Business Times ranked the Spring-Ford Area School District 34th out of 500 schools in the state of Pennsylvania based on PSSA scores. We had a chance to catch up with Superintendent David Goodin for his reaction.

"That's great!" said Goodin. "We're very proud of our teaching staff and the effort of our students in making this possible. I tell you, 34 out of 500 is very impressive."

In 2010-11, the district was ranked 40th in the state, showing a slight jump over the course of one year. The Philadelphia Business Journal also weighed in on the topic, ranking Spring-Ford 20th out of 62 area schools.

"Even the 20 out of 62 is not too bad," Goodin concluded. "We're up against some of the better performing districts in the state. They seem to be concentrated out in this direction. So, we're up there in the top part."

Board of Education Vice President Joe Ciresi also complimented the district, saying 34 out of 500 is something to brag about (courtesy Facebook).
