LIMERICK, PA — Recent vandalism at Limerick Community Park has caused "significant and costly" damage, officials said.
Overnight patrols by police on June 22 and June 23 discovered the incidents.
Vandals knocked over a porta pottie, dented the middle of a metal bench, put a potted plant and large amounts of soil into the bathroom toilet bowl, filled a urinal with soil, and more.
The damages are impacting the ongoing expansion and renovation of the playground.
"These senseless acts not only delay the completion of the project but also impact the entire community that looks forward to enjoying the improved park," police said.
Police are asking any residents who were at or near the park on June 22 or June 23 to contact police with any information at 610-495-7909 or limerickpolice@limerickpa.org.
