NEW HANOVER TOWNSHIP, PA — An individual wanted by authorities surrendered amidst a massive police response in New Hanover Township on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident began at a home on Liberty Bell Drive near Rhoads Road at around noon.
The wanted individual, who has not yet been identified by authorities, became involved in a standoff, police said.
Residents were urged to avoid the area through the afternoon as numerous police vehicles swarmed the area.
The suspect ultimately surrendered to the state police Special Emergency Response Team.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this incident may have caused and, as always, appreciate the continued support, patience, and understanding of our community," New Hanover police shared in a statement.
No injuries were reported.
