Archdiocese Teachers Will Have to Reapply for Jobs
The following comes from Frank Otto of the Pottstown Mercury:
Although the Philadelphia Archdiocese has announced plans to close 44 Catholic elementary schools, the implications of those closings apparently extend much further.
Sacred Heart in Royersford will merge with St. Eleanor School in Collegeville. However, the merger doesn’t mean that St. Eleanor School will technically remain open, unchanged. St Eleanor will, in fact, be effectively closing and reorganizing with Sacred Heart in the St. Eleanor School building, according to church sources.
As such, the staff of the reorganized, regional school will be completely rehired.
