Armed Man Arrested After Lengthy Standoff in Limerick
An armed man was arrested after a six-hour standoff with police in Limerick on Friday.

LIMERICK, PA -- An armed man was arrested in Limerick after a six-hour standoff with police on Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
The suspect, whom police have not identified, barricaded himself in a vehicle in the Raven's Claw neighborhood at around 3:40 p.m., police said.
Authorities would not elaborate on the circumstances leading up to the standoff.

The incident ended peacefully six hours later when the man finally surrendered, authorities said.
During the standoff, residents on Masters Drive were evacuated. A warming shelter was set up at the Limerick Township Building.

All Spring-Ford students who reside in the Raven's Claw neighborhood were taken to Evans Elementary School while the standoff was ongoing.
Police said that an investigation is underway and they had no further immediate statement regarding the event.
