2nd Day at the 2012 Democratic National Convention
2nd Full Day in Charlotte, with having extraordinary encounters with well recognized Politicians, and National figures.
Here it is at almost midnight, and I am writing this Blog after an extremely enjoyable and fun filled day.
Breakfast was at 6:30am, and then onto the Convention Center for the 1st time. Many caucuses were scheduled and many attended them. I have registered for a few during the next 3 days to attend. Since it was Labor Day, the Convention has not as yet been gavelled to order, however tomorrow is the big day.
The City of Charlotte celebrated the holiday with Carolina Fest, as I had mentioned in an earlier blog. Entertainment, Vendors galore with political memorabilia, as well as local fare. The weather, unlike in the Philadelphia & Suburban areas, was exceedingly Hot, Muggy & Sunny. We returned to our Hotel to freshen up, and then it was onto 2 receptions. At the 1st one I had the opportunity of meeting Former U.N. Ambassador to the United States, Former Governor of New Mexico, and Energy Secretary In President Clinton's Cabinet Bill Richardson. He was very engaging, and have included a photo taken with him.

Senator Bob Casey, Governor Rendell, Former Congressman Patrick Murphy, Former Philadelphia District Attorney and Judge Lynne Abraham were among the few notables who were in attendance. The Mayor of Charlotte gave some remarks as well. Next stop was the Pennsylvania Delegate reception at the Mint in Charllotte on Randolph Sreet. It is on the grounds of the Nationally Certified U.S. Mint that was there. The orginal Mint has administrative offices, however a modern facility is attached that houses an amazing Museum, catering to Pottery, Paintings and Clothing from long ago eras. It was a very opulent affair and many attended.
It was a very long day again, however I cannot complain with the once in a lifetime experience still unfolding before me. Tomorrow morning will be our first delegate breakfast with speakers and getting our floor credentials for the 1st full day of the Convention. Gavelling will start at 4pm, and the Keynote Speaker of the evening will be 1st Lady Michelle Obama, starting at approximately 10pm.

The location of the Pennsylvania Delegation is one of the best in the house & I look forward to hearing and participating, & hopefully being able to take some hisoric photos.
See ya all tomorrow.
