It's Spring (Sort of) And That Means Spring Rains

The calendar tells us it is spring time, even though recent weather is pointing more toward winter. Spring rains are just around the corner. Make sure you are prepared by checking your sump pump now.

Pour several buckets of water into the sump pit. Your pump should come on (this should only take a few seconds), pump out all the water and then turn off.  If your pump doesn't seem to be working properly, now, before the rains, is the time to get it checked out.

If you don't have a battery back-up, consider getting one to make sure any water will be pumped out, even during a power outage.
