I was first introduced to the public on the front page of the “Interboro Press”, a predecessor to the Spring-Ford Reporter, as the “New Years Baby” back in 1959. I lived my childhood years on a working dairy farm just outside of Spring City, then we moved to a ten acre “farm” just a few hundred yards away for most of my teenage years. When I got married, we lived in an apartment in Spring City for a year, then we purchased the home in Royersford where we raised our three children and have stayed for 34 years now. So, I’ve lived within a two mile radius of the first house I lived in for my entire life; I guess that qualifies me as a “local”.
This is my second attempt at blogging, I hope this one goes a little better… On my first attempt ( http://picturetaker13.blogspot.com/ ) I intended to post a new entry every week, but it ended up being closer to monthly. I gave up after about a half dozen posts. I set up that blog to feature my photography and the pictures I created in Photoshop with the images I had captured. I imagine that is what most of my blogging here will be about too. Although I do hope to attract some attention to my photography ( www.JoeEvansPictures.com ), I don’t want to limit it to just photography and sharing the pictures I create.
One of my “other hobbies” is researching my genealogy. I’ve traced my family back to the original immigrants who came to America about 1699 and settled here in Montgomery County. My oldest son is a tenth generation American landowner. This area is full of history and there are a lot of good places to do that kind of research. I’ll probably share some of that information too.

I was active in scouting for many years, as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout myself, then as an adult leader. Both of our sons are Eagle Scouts. I’ve been involved in several other community organizations too. I’ve also volunteered on some of our local government boards and committees for the last twenty five years. I’m a firm believer that everyone needs to do their part to make our communities prosper; we should all give something back. All three of our children have spent time serving our military. You will probably get the idea that I’m a pretty patriotic guy by some of the things I write and pictures that I’ll share.
As I make my blog posts I’ll try to entertain you. I hope to be able to share some of the knowledge I’ve gained and how I view certain situations. But mostly, I hope I’ll be able to make realize how important it is to, “stop and smell the roses”, and to put a smile on your face…

Here are the first pictures I’ll share with you. My introduction to the world, and my grandson showing off some of his “superhero powers”. Always believe in yourself and your abilities. You might be amazed what you can do!
