Keystone Markers, Tulips Coming Soon to Schuylkill River Trail

On May 12, several volunteers planted tulip bulbs in two locations along the Schuylkill River Trail in Chester County.

Bicyclists, runners and other users of the Schuylkill River Trail near Spring City will soon see a bit more color along their path.

Thanks to a grant from the Schuylkill River Greenway Association, the borough will receive three new Keystone Markers - those blue and yellow metal signs that mark your entry into a municipality. The locations will be the borough lines along the trail on both sides of the Spring City-Royersford Bridge, as well as the bridge itself.

Approximately 5,000 bright tulips, courtesy of America Responds with Love, will surround the Keystone posts.

On Sunday, May 12, Nathaniel Guest and Justin Boyd planted the flowers along with Spring City Borough councilmen James Burns and Mike Hays.

Appreciation is extended to Penn Organics for the mulch donation, as well as the public works crew of Spring City Borough for dropping off the dirt.
