Rams Outlast Scrappy Methacton 9-5 in Boys Lacrosse
Spring-Ford turns back a game Methacton Squad in Boys Lacrosse action.

Looking at the two benches just before faceoff, it was hard to picture this game being a close one. The Methacton Warriors have gotten off to a strong start this season but in doing so, have suffered numerous injuries to their already short roster. Meanwhile, Spring-Ford had some of it's own injuries to their squad but with the depth they have, the Rams were still feeling good about their chances to put another victory in the books. The eyes deceived all in attendance as Methacton was a game bunch that built confidence as the game went on and had a chance to snatch one from the Rams. In the end, too much depth propelled the Rams to a 9-5 victory in PAC-10 action.
Methacton's Jake Blitzer stood tall early in keeping Spring-Ford relatively in check and getting out of the 1st quarter only down 3-0. On the other end, Greg Bresnan was stoning quality looks from Methacton's attack as they had 3 good looks at the cage early on but Bresnan turned them away. As Blitzer and Bresnan were doing their thing, the Warrior offense finally started to get into rhythm and slowed the game down to a snails pace but that is just the type of game they needed to play with a very short bench. They finally were able to put one past Bresnan and trailed 3-1 at the half.
In the third quarter, Methacton's defense led by Andrew DeSana, clamped down and Blitzer continued to thwart the Ram's shooters with only Alex Marte netting a goal for Spring-Ford. Warrior attackmen, White and Del Vecchio tallied 3 times to put them in position for a major upset as the end of the third ended in a 4-4 tie. As the 4th quarter began, the scrappy and game Warriors were running out of gas and Spring-Ford began to impart its will and depth.
