Spring-Ford Works Out an 11-5 win over PV in PAC-10 Boy's Lacrosse Action
Spring-Ford Boys Lacrosse gets back on the winning track with a 11-5 victory of Perkiomen Valley

Not many current players can remember the last time Spring-Ford lost two consecutive regular season games in row. Especially losing in two, miserablely different ways. Perkiomen Valley was poised to earn a signature win for their program. Spring-Ford was determined to make sure that at this critical juncture they were going to get the season back on track.
Led by seniors Paul Major (3g, 3A) and Casey Pettine (3g) and a workmanlike effort by the defense on keeping PV on the perimeter most of the night, Spring-Ford was able to pull away and earn the 11-5 victory.
Perk Valley got off to a quick start by taking an early 3-1 lead on goals by Sean Tornetta and 2 by Shawn Dickey on the man-up sandwiched around a Mason Pinchiotti goal for Spring-Ford. PV had to be feeling good as Bryce Womack was into the game early making 5 first quarter saves. However, the Rams began to figure out Womack and were able to tie the score at 3 to end the first quarter.

Spring-Ford took over the game from here as Major and Pettine connected again and Major got the first two goals of his night to take a 6-3 lead into the half. Spring-Ford was in the virtually same point on Wednesday night, for sure they were aware that they must continue to control the game and not give the Vikings any life. Troy Szostek got SF on the board on a feed from Ronak Das to get the 2nd half started off on the right foot. Major got his third on a dodge from behind to extend the lead to 8-3. PV never got any closer than 5 goals the rest of the night.
Dealing with a few key injuries, especially at the face off X, Zach Hare was able to deliver a strong performance, winning over half his face offs and giving the Rams valuable possesion time. The close D of Ian Hare, Kyle Hoffner, Freshman Liam Hare and backstopped by Matt Messerle who was able to swallow up 9 shots while giving up just 5 goals (just 2 after the 1st quarter) on the night, kept PV unable to get in tight and settling for outside shots.

For PV, Bryce Womack was stellar in keeping PV in the game with 15 saves, but in the end, the Spring-Ford shooters will able to bury enough shots to work out the victory. Offensively, Tornetta and Dickey tallied 2 goals each and Ben Mimardi netted 1. Spring-Ford additional scoring came from Szostek 2 goals, Pinchiotti and Alex Marte with 1 each
Spring-Ford moves to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the PAC-10. Spring-Ford next entertains Methacton at Coach McNelly Stadium at 7 PM on Monday April 8th.
