Champion Athletes Honored at SF Meeting

The Spring-Ford Area School District honored athletes for championship performances during the spring season at its regular board of education meeting on Tuesday night.

First of all, we're really excited about the whole year and not just athletically, but how well these kids are socially, academically," said Athletic Director Mickey McDaniel. "We have tremendous student-athletes. The spring has been an awesome one. We won two team championships and yet we had three other teams vying for championships in championship games. Now we have softball playing Thursday for the state title."

The board recognized the teams with the following resolutions:

• 2012-17 - Commending the Spring-Ford High School Boys Track Team and their coaches Ken DeAngelo, Geoff Kahler, Rich Loughead, Jeff Mast, Meghan Noecker, Danielle Stauffer, Dustin Poole and Leighon Johnson for winning the 2012 (Meet Score: 152.17; Record: 9-0).
• 2012-18 - Commending the Spring-Ford High School Boys Lacrosse Team and their coaches Kevin Donnelly, Kevin Cazpor, Bryan Capone and Dan Monzo for winning the 2012 (Defeated: Owen J. Roberts, 9-8; Overall Record: 17-4).
• 2012-19 - Commending and for winning the 2012 and also qualifying for the PIAA District One Boys Tennis Tournament (Championship Score: 2-6, 6-1, 6-3).
• 2012-20 - Commending for winning the 2012 PAC-10 Girls Discus Championship (Distance: 104-feet).
• 2012-21 - Commending for winning the 2012 PAC-10 Girls 100 Meter Hurdles Championship (Time: 14.95).
• 2012-22 - Commending Joe Bush for winning the 2012 PAC-10 Triple Jump Championship (Distance: 42-feet-11.5).
• 2012-23 - Commending Ryan Pierson for winning the 2012 PAC-10 Boys Pole Vault Championship (Height: 13-feet-6).
• 2012-24 - Commending for winning the 2012 PAC-10 Boys Javelin Championship (Distance: 186-feet-8).
• 2012-25 - Commending David O'Such for winning the 2012 PAC-10 Boys 400 Meter Dash Championship (Time: 50.74).
• 2012-26 - Commending , , Adam Musetti and for winning the 2012 PAC-10 4x800 Meter Relay Championship (Time: 7:55.11).
• 2012-27 - Commending Mikaila White for winning the District One Girls 300 Meter Hurdles Championship (Time: 44.65).

"Every one of these young men and women have made us proud," McDaniel continued. "I had a chance to be at the PAC-10 Championships and District Championships. To watch them perform with class and integrity is what was most important to me. And how humble they are. The humility they have and respect they have for the district, the people, the board, the administration. They're very appreciative of that. To me, it's just a great group of kids. This senior class, we're going to miss them when they depart in two weeks."
