Ciresi Endorsed by MCDC

PLYMOUTH MEETING --- In front of more than 300 voting members of the Montgomery County Democratic Committee, Joe Ciresi picked up the party endorsement Jan. 28 to run for state representative in the 146th legislative district.

Marcel Groen, previous chairman of the county party and now the leader of the Pennsylvania Democrats, said the plan for electing Democrats to office in 2016 remains the same -- finding people “who can win, who can govern and who can make us proud.”

Ciresi, 45, is the vice president of the Spring-Ford Area School Board, where he has pushed for fair funding, balanced budgets and a top-tier school district.

“With his strong record in public education and community service, Joe will make an excellent representative in Harrisburg, “ said Joe Foster, chairman of MCDC.

“Democrats, especially those in the 146th District, need to get behind Joe and make sure he has all of the resources necessary to win,” he said.

Ciresi, who was joined by his wife, Pam, and members of his campaign staff at Colonial Elementary School for the convention, said: “While this campaign is about bringing people together and finding solutions in a bipartisan way, I am honored to receive the county Democrats’ endorsement. This is just one step of many on the road to victory in November.”

The 146th legislative district includes the boroughs of Trappe, Royersford and a portion of Pottstown, in addition to Limerick, Lower Pottsgrove and Perkiomen townships.

Ciresi, a resident of Limerick with his wife and son, has served as a Spring-Ford Area School Board director for 10 years. For the last 14 years, he has worked as the Director of Sales and Promotions at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
