Ciresi Obtains the Wholehearted Endorsements from Barack Obama & Tom Wolf !!!

Negative Campaign Mailings by the Incumbent has turned off Voters in the District, & Boosted Support & Confidence in Joe Ciresi's Campaign.

Contrary to Quigley’s assertions in recent mailings to voters in Limerick - Royersford, parts of Pottstown - Upper Pottsgrove - Trappe & Perkiomen, since 2011 the State Legislature in Harrisburg, which Quigley has been a part of for Ten (10) Years, has cut $1 Billion from education budgets across the Commonwealth. It has in effect, devastated our local School Districts, which in effect, have been forced to raise local real estate taxes to meet State Unfunded Mandates, especially in Pottstown and Spring-Ford.

During those Ten (10) Years, Ciresi has held positions of President and Vice-President of the Spring-ford School Board. He has been working across Party lines, as a minority member, in making budget decisions to reduce Spring-ford’s overall debt by over $150 million, coupled with leap-frogging the District’s Ranking to the Top 2% in the State, and the 6th lowest in tax rates out of 24 school districts in Montgomery County.

Throughout the campaign, since late 2015, Ciresi has taken the High Road in touching base with his constituents. He attended a non-partisan and independent Candidate Forum recently to answer questions and to explain his positions on current issues, which Quigley did not show up for, or respond to. When a Public Debate sponsored by PCTV was offered to both candidates, Ciresi accepted the invitation while Quigley declined, citing in an article in the Pottstown Mercury that “He’d rather spend the time knocking on doors”, rather than giving responses on relevant issues and defending his lack of accomplishments to voters.

From humble beginnings in New York State where he was born, and choosing to buy a home and reside in Limerick Township 16 years ago to raise his family, Joe Ciresi has shown and proven how to get things done. In addition, Ciresi has been active in providing affordable senior housing as President of Petra Community Housing in the area, which is a non-profit organization. He has also volunteered, actively helping Steel River Playhouse in Pottstown to invigorate the downtown area, volunteering time and energy at the Western Montgomery Career and Technical School which he serves as Chairman, and also as a board member of Trappe Community Music School.

When asked what convinced him to run for the State Legislature, he cites three (3) main reasons.

  1. Being a homeowner, and saddled with increasing property taxes, he feels the pain of others when he writes his own checks twice each year to pay them. He feels that he is better qualified to address the issue of Fairer Funding of Education in the Schools, which his opponent has not done.
  2. As a commuter to Philadelphia each day as Director of Advertising at the Kimmel Center, he feels the same pain as most, with the bottle-necks and traffic congestion on 422 during rush hour. He wants to fight to restore passenger train service from Pottstown-Limerick-Royersford to Philly, that was discontinued in the early 1980’s on the existing train tracks.
  3. The third and final reason was an epiphany he encountered from September last year, when he appeared with the Heritage Chorale on the steps of the Art Museum, singing as backup performers for Andrea Bocelli and Aretha Franklin for Pope Francis. Although Ciresi has provided countless hours of volunteering in the community, the Pope’s message at the event of giving back to others, rang truer than ever, while he stood only a few feet away from the Pontiff.

Joe Ciresi hopes to bring that enthusiasm to Harrisburg, when elected, to continue giving back to the area. Between singing for the Pope, and obtaining the support and confidence of Barack Obama, has further defined his character. Ciresi feels that the constituency of the 146th legislative district needs better representation in Harrisburg. It’s time for a Change, and personally I’m extremely enthusiastic as well in Boarding the Train to Harrisburg with Joe Ciresi at the Controls on November 8th.
