'Distraction Burglary' Investigated in Limerick
Police are warning residents to be aware of attempted "distraction burglaries" in the Limerick area.

LIMERICK, PA -- Police are warning residents to be aware of attempted "distraction burglaries" in the Limerick area after a recent incident.
The suspects knocked on the door of a Limerick home and claimed that they worked for the water company in the area.
Once inside, one of the suspects distracted the home owner while another went around the house stealing valuables.

"Should anyone come to your door and claim to be a phone, water, power or similar contractor it is perfectly acceptable to ask them to leave and contact you to schedule an appointment," Limerick police said.
Police said that the elderly were at the greatest risk of being targeted, and urged residents to keep their elderly family and friends informed of the situation.
