Wine = Love & Chocolate! Saturday & Sunday February 11th and 12th, 2012 (Noon to 5 PM both days) is the annual "Chocolate & Wine Pairing Event Weekend"  hosted by the Berks County Wine Trail.   During this particularly sweet weekend, wine lovers old and new to this regional wine trail will discover sumptuous pairings of locally produced wines, chocolates and chocolatey confections. Attendees will fall in love with this self-guided tour of the trail's wineries and rustic Berks County countryside.  Create a romantic getaway-day for you and your Valentine by mapping out your own customized wine tour of the wine trail. Visit all 8 wineries or select just a few to visit based on chocolates featured, wines featured or geographic location.

No tickets or reservations are required.  The featured chocolate & wine pairings during this event are free. Please note, some of the wineries do charge modest fees for samplings from their full wine tasting menus; however, these fees are often refundable with the purchase of a bottle of wine.

The featured chocolate & wine pairings menu is posted on the wine trail's events page:  www.berkscountywinetrail.com    A tempting preview of some of the pairings include:  chocolate covered candied fruits paired with a floral Traminette,  classic chocolate Mousse with Pinot Noir, and fountains of melted chocolate paired with fresh fruit and wines made from local fruit.

Why wine?  Why chocolate? Why not!?!  World class sparking wines crafted in the traditional French method,  Italian-style wines, French style wines,  German-style cold climate wines, fruit wines,  fruit & grape blends, dessert wines, vegetable wines and chocolate wines... are just a sampling of the array of wines one will discover and enjoy on the Berks County Wine Trail.   Many of the wineries are open daily, year round....so you don't have to wait for Chocolate & Wine Pairing Event Weekend to visit these wineries.
