Healthy Relationships: Recognizing Teen Dating Violence

Spring-Ford Area School District will host "Healthy Relationships: Recognizing Teen Dating Violence," April 14 at 7 p.m., in the Ninth Grade Center's auditorium, to promote awareness among parents about teen dating violence and how to prevent it.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, one in four teens reports having been verbally, physically, emotionally or sexually abused by a dating partner, with about 10 percent reporting being physically hurt in the past year.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for registration and refreshments.

The program is free and open to the public.

Presentations will be given by assistant district attorneys, and representatives from Laurel House (domestic violence and emergency shelter agency) and The Women's Center of Montgomery County. Following the presentations, there will be time for questions and answers with the presenters.
