Grace Assembly of God, Rt. 23 & West Bridge Street, Spring City
will be hosting its 16th annual Community Patriotic Service on
July 3, at 10:00 a.m.
Our guest speaker will be Charlotte Blake Alston.
Charlotte is a nationally acclaimed master storyteller,
narrator, instrumentalist, and singer who performs in venues
throughout North America and abroad. She has been the host
of “Sound All Around,” the Philadelphia Orchestra’s preschool
concert series since 1994. She has been a featured host,
storyteller, and narrator on the Carnegie Hall Family and School
Concert Series from 1995 to the present. She has received
various awards for her storytelling and mesmerizing voice
including the 1997 Commonwealth of PA Artist of the Year Award
and a ‘Best of Philly™’. Charlotte’s stories are often enhanced
with traditional instruments such as drums, mbira (thumb piano),
and kora.
She engages the imagination and underscores human commonalities through traditional porquoi tales that affirm and celebrate life. She will invite us to walk the bridge to a new understanding of people and
our interconnectedness as Americans and human beings.
The service will include local guests, recognition of those
serving or who have served in all Military Branches of Service
and Presentation of Colors.
