The Spring-Ford Area Historical Society proudly presents Professor Dennis P. McIlnay who will give a special presentation on his newest book "The Wreck of the Red Arrow".

Dennis P. McIlnay of Hollidaysburg,
Pennsylvania is the author of five books: The Wreck
of the Red Arrow: An American Tragedy
, The
Horseshoe Curve: Sabotage and Subversion in the Railroad City

and Juniata, River of Sorrows: One Man’s Journey into a River’s
Tragic Past
. McIlnay’s two other books are about charitable
foundations: How Foundations Work
(Jossey-Bass Publishers) and Foundations and Higher Education (Kurian Publishing).

McIlnay is Professor of Management at
Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania where he holds a joint,
tenured appointment in the Business Administration Department and the Master of
Business Administration Program. At Saint Francis University, McIlnay received
the Distinguished Professor Award from the National Alumni Association, the
Distinguished Professor Award from the Student Honors Society, and the
Outstanding Educator Award from the student body. He also received the Salute
to Teaching Award from the Pennsylvania Academy for the Profession of Teaching.
He holds a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Seton Hall
University.


Before joining the faculty
at Saint Francis University in 1987, McIlnay served as Chief Development Officer
at Seton Hall University and in similar positions at four other colleges. A
native of Latrobe, Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh, McIlnay was inducted into the
United States Army in 1970 and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
