Fire At Upper Perkiomen HS Injures Two, School Closed Monday
Two people were injured in a fire at Upper Perkiomen HIgh School over the weekend, leading school to be canceled Monday.

UPPER PERKIOMEN, PA — Two people were injured in a fire at Upper Perkiomen High School over the weekend, leading school to be canceled Monday.
The incident occurred Saturday morning in the tech education classroom, according to Superintendent Alexis McGloin.
It's not yet clear what caused the blaze. The fire itself was contained to the classroom area, but smoke filtered throughout parts of the school.

Numerous media reports, including 6ABC, noted that two firefighters suffered injuries to their hands while they battled the blaze.
"While this is certainly is a devastating blow to the Upper Perk community, we are very fortunate that the fire did not occur on a school day," McGloin said in a statement. "I would like to thank the first responders for their quick action and dedication to keeping our community safe. I truly appreciate their commitment."
