The following write-up and photos was submitted by Christina Bortner, a public relations account executive:

preschool students in Royersford hosted a ladybug release in celebration of Earth Day on Friday, April 20, 2012. Students released approximately 3,000 ladybugs into the environment.

Throughout the week, students learned that ladybugs feed on aphids (plant lice) and other insects that are harmful to gardens, trees and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at a young age.
