Overall Impressions of the Season: "I'm proud of how hard the girls worked," said head coach Amy Short. "I am not satisfied where we ended, however I'm glad we got that far. I do think a little piece of the championship and districts kind of will push us a little more next year in achieving more. It's tough to get all the way there to the PAC-10 Championship and not win. It's tough to get into districts and not move on. We'll be getting a better seed next year, which is a part of my goal now. I want to work to see if we can improve from the 20th seed."
Best Game: "North Penn [during the regular season] obviously for many reasons. The fact that we were probably considered the underdog against them when we came out and dominated most of the game. I think we were winning most of the game. We were able to hold them off at the end by playing strong in the last couple of minutes and being able to win by two goals. They fought from the beginning of the game until the end of the game. They never gave up and never stopped being aggressive or competitive. It was an awesome game all-around."
Worst Game: "I would have to say the second time we played Methacton at Methacton was a really tough game to get motivated and going. They were not where they should have been playing in that game. Not taking anything away from Methacton because I think they improved since the first time we played them. However, we definitely did not play our game."
Story of the Year: "I would say there was a moment right in the beginning of the season that really clicked in my head when we played Henderson. There was only a few seconds left. Sasha [Wozniak] and Maddie had the ball behind the cage. It was tied and Sasha had the ball and came around the crease and had a shot on goal and hit the goalie. It went into overtime and we lost in overtime. That shot right there could have changed so much for our season. If that shot could have gone in and we would have beat Henderson, I think the boost we would have gotten from that would have changed the entire season."
Unexpected Leader/Player: "I would say most of the girls I expected to step up did step up into those leadership roles and led the team in a lot of ways. Defensively, I would have to say Brianna Barone and Madison Dishman really stepped up for games this year and helped us survive."
Thoughts About Next Year: "We're just having exit meetings. I'm laying it all out on the table. The competition for the lineup next year is alive. That's whether or not you're a two- or three-year starter or you were on [junior varsity]. We have 13 or 14 possibly returning seniors next year. Obviously for the future of our program, there will be 14 seniors that will graduate. On the flipside, we do have a lot of experience returning and we could be very competitive."
Seniors Next Year: Barone (mid), Anna Charlebois (attack) , Caleigh Falco (mid), Samantha Flynn (defense), Erin Mensch (defense), Leann Shaw (mid), Aurora Snyder (goalie), Wozniak (mid). JV: Courtney Hinnant, Jackie Janda, Chandler Jones, Carrie Kupferschmidt, , Hannah Puckett.
Final Thoughts: "No, that's it!"
