Jenna Antoniewicz Sworn In As Royersford's First Female Mayor

ROYERSFORD, PA — Jenna Antoniewicz, the first female mayor in Royersford history, has officially been sworn in to office.

Antoniewicz, a Democrat, was elected in November when she defeated challenging Republican and incumbent mayor John K. Guest. Antoniewicz earned 63.7 percent of the vote, to Guest's 36.17.

"Thank you to everyone who came out to support those of us being sworn in tonight," Antoniewicz said in a statement after the Tuesday event. "Now, the work begins!"

Antoniewicz is a central Pennsylvania native with a bachelors degree in writing from Susquehanna University and a masters of science in education from Bucknell University. She served for several years as a school administrator there.

"As your newly elected mayor, I promise to be present and thoughtful about what it means to serve as a liaison between you and Borough Council. I promise to do my best to serve everyone in town, working with those who live, work, and play here to promote an inclusive community for all," Antoniewicz added.

Antoniewicz was a part of a Democratic takeover that impacted Royersford, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and much of the nation in November, as liberals won key races at the local, state, and national levels.
