Jon Gosselin Appearing at Renaissance Golf Fundraiser

has a reality star in its corner.

According to The Mercury, Jon Gosselin of ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ fame–or whatever sits a notch or two below fame–has been promoting the school’s second annual golf fundraiser, scheduled for May 31 at , and is slated to participate in the event as well. 

The event’s proceeds will go to the school’s new campus at Franklin Commons.
Last year the outing raised $10,000 and had 60 golfers, and this year, with an assist from Gosselin, the charter is hoping to double each figure.

According to Renaissance staff members, Gosselin’s connection to the school, which he’s promoted on WMMR’s Preston and Steve Show, is just this: he has worked with Omega Systems–which is the computer system employed by the charter.

Gosselin was born in Wyomissing.
