Lifelong Royersford Man, Korea Vet, 50-Year Cement Mason Passes Away

Mr. Golie served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a diver and a water safety instructor.

ROYERSFORD, PA -- Anthony Golie, age 83, lifelong resident of Royersford, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the Parkhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on May 27, 1933 in Royersford, he was a son of the late Anthony and Rose (Dicco) Golie.

A veteran, Mr. Golie served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a diver and a water safety instructor. He worked as a cement mason for 50 years as part of the Local 592 in Philadelphia. Mr. Golie was a proud lifetime member of the American-Italian Bocce Club in Royersford, as well as countless other local area clubs. He cooked at Golden Age Manor, and helped with spaghetti dinners for the VFW and the Bocce club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Golie is survived by one daughter, Toni Louise, and three nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Edward, Robert, Ronald, and Virginia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:00 am. Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home.
