Limerick Fire Company To Get New 20,300 Square Foot Station
The new station will be a two-story, 20,300 square foot building which will be equipped with drive-through bays for trucks.

LIMERICK, PA -- The Limerick Fire Company announced plans Tuesday to construct a new fire station, with a groundbreaking ceremony set for October 29.
"The Fire Company currently operates out of a building at 390 West Ridge Pike that was constructed in 1984 and is in need of significant updates to maintain the efficiencies of the Company, and embrace the modern challenges in which they are faced," officials said in a statement. "Several studies conducted over the past few years has determined that a renovation of the existing building would be cost prohibitive."

In addition, there will be room for staff to sleep, in case they need to stay for lengthy periods of time during emergencies and weather events. Other features will include training and study rooms, equipment and radio rooms, and administrative offices.

The existing fire house on 390 West Ridge Pike will be demolished on November 5.

During the construction of the new fire station, Limerick will run their fire operations out of two temporary locations: behind the Township Public Works Building and out of a building located at the former Teleflex property on Lewis Road.
The Limerick Fire Station will be a two-story, 20,300 square foot building, equipped with five “drive through” apparatus bays. Included in the overall square footage is space for the existing members to sleep while staffing the Station during weather events, or other emergencies. Other vital spaces will include training and study rooms for the 70+ active firefighters to meet mandated training certifications, equipment and radio rooms, along with administrative offices. The new Station will also provide accommodations to maintain emergency medical services (EMS) staffing (provided by Trappe Fire Company Ambulance), and a space to support the Township Emergency Operations Center.
Limerick Fire Company wishes to thank the entire community for all your past support and ask for your continued cooperation as the Fire Company enters this next phase of their long term planning initiatives to “help us, help you.”
