LIMERICK GRANT SUCCESS CONTINUES

Limerick Township is proud to announce that the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has awarded a $225,000 grant for improvements towards the Limerick Community Park.

This grant is in addition to last year’s award of $200,000 from a DCNR grant received for this improvement project. “Since the completion of the Limerick Community Park Master Plan in 2018, the Board has been eager to begin constructing the first phase of this improvement plan (shown below), which include additional outdoor recreational amenities and site improvements”, states Board of Supervisors Chairman, Thomas J. Neafcy, Jr. “With the tremendous growth of the Limerick community over the past decade, the enhancement of recreational open space and trail opportunities for our residents has been a high priority.”

This grant was achieved through the efforts of Pennoni (Township Engineer), Traffic, Planning and Design (Township Traffic Engineer) and Simone Collins Landscape Architecture, (Township Planner). Over the past decade, Limerick Township has received over $14-million in grant money for numerous open space preservation, roadway improvements, construction of multi-use trails, and park enhancement projects.
