Limerick And Linfield Fire Companies Merge

The newly former Limerick Fire Department will include both of the former Limerick and Linfield Fire Companies.

LIMERICK, PA — The merger of two local fire companies into one new department is complete.

Linfield Fire Company will join with Limerick Fire Company under one new banner, Limerick Fire Department. The move was effective on Jan. 1.

The department will operate out of the two existing stations in Limerick on 390 W. Ridge Pike, and at 1077 Main Street in Linfield.

However, the command structure will be unified under the single Limerick Fire Department organization.

It's been designated as Montgomery County Station 51.

The department said they have around 45 active volunteer firefighers.

The president of the department is Tom Walters, and the chief is Ken Shuler.
