LIMERICK, PA — The Limerick Nuclear Power Plant will conduct their semi-annual testing of their warning sirens for three minutes on Monday afternoon, June 1.

The test will take place at 2 p.m. There is no cause for alarm, officials remind residents.

The test will include all 165 sirens throughout the area and will last for about three minutes, according to officials. If you're within a 10 to 15 mile radius of the Station, you may hear the high-pitched, wailing alarm.

The full siren test occurs twice a year, in December and June. It's part of a routine safety check.

If you do hear the sirens outside of normal testing periods, please know that they are not a signal to evacuate, Exelon said. Rather, you should tune in to the Emergency Alert System radio for instructions.
