Longtime Royersford Woman Who Was Active In Community Dies At 96

Delma M. Evans, 96, was active in the Spring City Meals on Wheels program , historical society, and more.

LIMERICK, PA — Delma M. Evans, 96, East Coventry, formerly Royersford, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 in Manatawny Manor. Born on May 8, 1921 in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Bertha E. (Smith) and Edgar R. Evans.

Delma was a 1940 graduate of Phoenixville High School. She lived most of her life in Royersford and was employed as a secretary for Diamond Glass. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Spring-Ford Area Historical Society and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Humane Fire Co. She was also active with Meals On Wheels in the Spring City area.

Delma is survived by her first cousins: Holly Younker and Richard Spieth; and several second cousins.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Delma's name to the Montgomery County SPCA, 19 E. Ridge Pike - Box 222, Conshohocken, PA 19428, or the Montgomery County Association for the Blind, 25 E. Marshall Street, Norristown, PA 19401.
