Main Street In Linfield Shut Down After Accident Takes Down Pole

LINFIELD, PA — An accident in Linfield Tuesday morning took down a utility pole and wires, leading to a Main Street road closure.

The incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. near Limerick Center Road.

At least one car, a four door sedan, was significantly damaged in the accident.

Main Street was closed between Limerick Center Road and Ferndale Road as crews from Verizon and Comcast worked to replace the pole and move the wires, authorities said.

However, police said that drivers continued to drive around the barricades despite the road closure, "not believing barricades pertain to them," according to officials.

Fire police are on the scene and authorities urge motorists to obey the signs and barricades for their own protection.
