'Major' Speed Enforcement Planned On 422 Over The Next Few Weeks

Local police are looking to crack down on drivers who speed on 422.

WEST POTTSGROVE, PA — Police in Montgomery County announced that they will be conducting "major" speed enforcement on Route 422 over the next several weeks.

There are ongoing construction zones on 422 where the speed limit is 40 miles per hour. On the remainder of the road, the speed limit is 55 miles per hour.

West Pottsgrove Police said that one of the top complaints they receive is "incessant" speeding on the road.

"Next to distracted driving and impaired driving, speeding is the third leading cause of fatalities on our roadways," police said in a statement. "Simply put, pay attention to your driving, drive the speed limit, avoid the fines, and avoid changing someone else’s life as well as your own."

When a construction zone is active, all fines are doubled.
