Montgomery Co. Robbers Use App To Find Victims: Cops

Police said the robbers have struck numerous victims who are using a popular app to sell items.

LOWER POTTSGROVE, PA — Local strong-arm robbers have victimized numerous residents who were trying to sell items using a popular app, police said.

Police said that seven different robberies have been reported after victims were lured using the "letgo" app.

The incidents have taken place around the area since Sept. 2, including in the parking lot of The Coventry Christian School, Landis Market, and Walnut Ridge Estates Community.

Authorities urged residents to exercise caution in such transactions and to utilize safe, public areas during normal business hours.

"The seller should always be the one dictating the time and location of the sale," Lower Pottsgrove Police said. "Sellers should always research the buyer’s profile. If something seems unusual or you have any questions about the sale, contact your local police department prior to arriving to sell your merchandise."
