New Location Determined For Royersford Ice Rink
Officials have found a new location for the Royersford ice skating rink at a local ball field.
ROYERSFORD, PA — Officials have found a new location for highly anticipated Royersford ice skating rink.
The rink will be installed at the baseball and softball field on South 3rd Avenue, the borough announced Thursday. This is instead of the previously determined location at the Victory Park parking lot. Authorities said that this was found to be an unacceptable spot for the rink due to the slope of the lot.
The pieces for the new ice rink have arrived, and are being put together. Officials said that they just waiting for "cold enough weather" to make the rink skate friendly. Once that weather strikes, the rink will be open.

Plans for the rink were first announced in October, and were met with widespread support from the community.
The ball fields on South 3rd Avenue will be restored before baseball and softball season begins early next spring, the borough said.
