The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will discuss with the public how Limerick Generating Station has been performing.

LIMERICK, PA — The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will discuss with the public how Limerick Generating Station has been performing at an upcoming event.

The event will take place on May 16 at the interim Limerick Township Building on 155 South Limerick Road. It will run from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Officials said that NRC employees responsible for plant inspections, including resident inspectors who are based full time at the site, will answer questions.

"Both Limerick units operated safely during 2017," the NRC said in a statement. "At the end of the year, all inspection findings and performance indicators were of very low safety significance. As a result, Units 1 and 2 remain under the NRC’s normal level of oversight, which entails thousands of hours of inspection each year."
