Obituaries

Maria (DePietropaolo) Vargo, 90, of Gilbertsville, formerly Royersford, passed away early Saturday morning, December 10, 2011, at her residence.  She had been married to her late husband, Paul B. Vargo, for 69 years.  Born in Ripa Teatina, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Pacifico and Concetta (Narcisi) DePietropaolo.

A homemaker, Mrs. Vargo enjoyed and took pride in taking care of her home and most importantly her family.  She was a member of St. Philip Neri Church in Pennsburg.  Maria was also an avid reader.

Mrs. Vargo is survived by two sons, William P. husband of Della Mae Vargo of Pottstown, and Michael J. husband of Diana Vargo, of Pottstown; daughter-in-law, Pamela Vargo, of Boyertown; one sister, Ida Sierzega; brother, Edward DePietropaolo, two grandchildren, Alicia and Ryan Vargo; eight step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a son, James D. Vargo, and brother, Anthony DePietropaolo.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her funeral mass at the St. Philip Neri Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA, on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.  Officiating will be the Rev. Robert A. Roncase.  Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg.  Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Maria’s name to the TriCounty Home Health and Hospice, 13 Armand Hammer Blvd., Suite 201, Pottstown, PA 19464.  Arrangements are being handled by the .  Condolences may be offered online at www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
